Aleksanterinleivokset / Aleksander's cakes

May's Secret baking friend packege contained strawberry icing sugar and a note from SLY that it was meant to be used in Aleksander's cakes. Roger that! Aleksander's cakes it is then. This one was a really fun bake, first time trying Aleksander's cakes and just in general I rarely bake anything like these. I got a message to my blog telling that Kinuskikissa has a good recipe so of course I used it.

Base:
250g butter
1½dl sugar
2tsp vanillasugar
2 egg yolks
6dl flour

Filling:
1½dl rasberry marmelade

Icing:
2½tbsp water
3½dl icing sugar

Decoration:
5-6 pieces of white or dark chocolate

Whisk the butter and sugar until its white and fluffy. Add yolks and flower, mix all together fast. Dough will be like breadcrumbs at this point. Knead it so it comes together. Wrap the dought to kitchen film and let it rest in fridge for an hour.
Divide the dough in to two. And roll both of the doughs into a 20x30 cm wide disk (on top of a baking sheet). Spread the marmalade on top of one the disks and then set the second disk on top of the marmalade. (see the pictures in Kinuskikissas's blog) remove the baking sheet from the top. Bake in 200 degrees for about 30 mins (cover with tin foil if needed). Let it cool.
Melt the chocolate and put it to the piping bag. Straight away make the icing and spread it on top of the cake. Take the piping bag and pipe thin stripes Cut through the chocolate stripes with a knife to get the marble effect. Let the icing set.
